The Gamechanger really isn't anything more than a ballistic tip. Sierra is cashing in on the high BC long range game, but didn't do much to actually make their bullets more stout. My initial reaction to them was that they'll perform a lot like an ELD-X, Nosler Ballistic Tip, or any other non-bonded, tipped bullet. The GameChanger bullets are actually a new design that incorporates features from other types that Sierra make, resulting in a unique and enhanced bullet style. They do feature a synthetic tip, which serves to maximize the ballistic coefficient (high BC), allowing for greater downrange trajectory and energy performance. Sierra has for decades been at the forefront of bullet accuracy, yet it has lagged behind in bullet innovation. Handloaders enthused over Sierra hunting bullet accuracy but lamented the lack of a composite-tipped version that would protect tips during recoil in the magazine box and while bouncing up feed ramps, as well as provide enhanced aerodynamics.
